Gatke Bearing & Tube
Gatke molded fabric bearings far outlast metal! Gatke bearings are built tough to withstand the harshest applications. Made of high-strength fabrics and special long-lasting resin compounds that are molded under heat and extreme high pressure. During manufacturing, the molding pressure is applied in the direction of the bearing load which gives Gatke bearings their unique strength characteristics. Their extreme hardness makes them unbelievably tough and long wearing. But they are also very resilient which means they can withstand repeated shocks and heavy loads that literally destroy metal and plastic bearings. In fact, you can runGatke bearings without lubrication and they won’t create the galling and scoring that would result with metal bearings. These bearings are available in a variety of formulations to specifically meet the friction and strength needs of the application. These materials are listed in the Technical Material section. All bearings are made to your specifications & call with the details of your application.
Gatke Custom Flat
The unique properties of Gatke material in numerous high-load and wear applications make it an excellent choice. With the molding pressure being applied in the direction of bearing load, the resulting product, be it a wear strip, thrust washer, or whatever configuration, the Gatke material will withstand repeated shocks and heavy loads that will literally destroy metal and plastic materials.
Special shapes from flat stock are readily available in thicknesses up to 2″ and sizes up to 28″ wide by 120″ in length. Parts can be machined and drilled to meet any customer requirement.
Industries utilizing flat Gatke stock are Railroad and Commuter Rail, Machine Press Equipment, Tread and Water Plates, Chemical Resistant and Thrust Bearings, as well as various Plate Liners
Gatke Molded Products
Gatke Phenolic Laminate Material can be molded into various special configurations to adapt to critical applications. By molding to the finished shape, the unique properties of Gatke Phenolic materials can be utilized to their fullest extent. Made of high-strength fabrics and specially formulated long-lasting Phenolic resin compounds, the parts are molded under closely controlled heat and pressure applied in the direction of bearing load which gives the family of Gatke materials their unique characteristics. An example of a molded product that offers unique properties over the machined version is the offering 216 style screw conveyer hangar bearings.
Areas of application include Steel and Aluminum Rolling Mills, Paper and Pulp Mill Equipment, Marine winches, Mining crushing and grinding equipment, and Chemical processing parts.
