RJ Butzen is the General Manager of Great Lakes Friction Products, a division of Scan-Pac, bringing more than two decades of experience within the business. RJ came up through the company, starting on the production floor in 2004 and advanced through production, finance, and operations roles before being named General Manager.
His background pairs hands-on shop-floor leadership with controller-level financial fluency, giving him equal command of operational execution and financial performance. During his tenure, he has modernized production visibility through ERP optimization and custom manufacturing software; strengthened financial controls while driving cost discipline and scrap reduction; and directed vendor and supply chain strategy. He also led the business through its acquisition by Scan-Pac and the post-close integration.
RJ is proud to be part of its Leadership team. Known for his plain-spoken, evidence-based approach to leadership, RJ connects what happens on the shop floor to the numbers that run the business. He holds a B.B.A. in Supply Chain and Operations Management and Marketing from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.
Outside of work, RJ enjoys golfing, curling, exploring Wisconsin’s outdoors, and spending time with his family.
